day 4, post-execution
[Lara's foot is bye-bye, two ankle monitors are now in her possession, and there may or may not be the slightest bit of blood speckled all over Angel's body. The pain in her upper arm is a reminder of what happened this morning, but it all seems so far away after the trial and execution. A person she thought she could trust turned out to be staff, and — well. There's no use letting it get to her. She won't achieve anything like that.
So once she can't stand being in the Technological Lab with Lara and Luke's deaths weighting on her, she heads out for a break in hopes of soothing her nerves. It's during that time that she spots Jack, and despite something strange settling into her stomach? She approaches him.]
... Excuse me, Jack? [Gently, to get his attention. He seemed to be significantly upset during the trial, and she would rather not get him worked up again.] If you don't mind me asking, how are you feeling?
[She might as well ask, considering he almost started a fight with Rhys right in front of her.]

i had to ruin your life elsewhere so now i'm here
He's deep in thought when Angel calls out to him, and he turns towards her. ]
Huh? I'm feeling fi—Woah.
[ Jack's gaze settles on the blood when he cuts off abruptly, since he hadn't expected that. He doesn't seem as concerned as he maybe should be, but that's more borderlands morals than anything else. Sometimes you just turn up with blood on you. It's cool. ]
I've gotta ask you the same question first. You, uh-- You get those monitors?
i am ready to for double the pain
Her expression does tighten when he asks, however. It's good to know that he's doing fine, but it's not so good to have the tables turned on her.]
I did. [This would normally be a good thing. It's not, considering her findings so far.] ... Unfortunately, the results aren't what I had hoped for. It seems there is no data stored within the monitors.

Ahhh, seriously? Bummer. Nothing?
[ His posture relaxes, and he sighs. ]
What about the mechanical parts? Anything you could use to build something cool inside?

Well... That are the components that can be used to deliver a shock to the monitor's wearer — a taser, if you would. I'm sure something new could be constructed out of it with enough ingenuity. [But she's not an engineer, so...] I also discovered the monitors are connected to a network, but that one seemed to be obvious.

[ He shrugs, shakes his head, then looks back to her. ]
You got any plans for it? I bet I could whip something up with it. Which, yeah, might totally get me killed just for looking sketchy, but, eh. It wouldn't be for me so much.

[So, yeah. She smiles a bit wryly when he talks about looking sketchy.]
I doubt you'll look as sketchy as I do at this time. But... we'll keep it between the two of us, just in case.

I mean— Couldn't be sure, since I haven't gotten into the guts of 'em, but with any luck? Could add a nice shock, at least. I've- I've been workin' on a basic pipe pistol kinda thing, so that would be pretty kickass, right?
[ Jack laughs, then adds: ]
Nnnnot that this is helping with my sketchiness rating probably, but, eh. Secret between high tech peeps.

[And to quote a famous sinner: This is not the universe laughing at Angel, but it is absolutely me, Kyuu, laughing at her.
A beat:]
Well... Not yet, anyway. [It's. A joke? Kind of.] Follow me. You can take a look at the "guts" in the lab.

[ Jack is pretty pleased by her saying so, though, and perhaps to a slightly odd extent. A grin comes to his face easily, since it's actually nice to hear that. That's not something he expected, but considering the doom and gloom that Rhys has foretold for him, he's actually pretty glad to hear someone actually say the opposite. He doesn't elaborate on that, of course, but he's quietly thankful. ]
Sweet, we'll figure something out. Like- It seems like basic stuff, so should be no problem!
[ Off they go, I guess, but as they walk, Jack tucks his hands into his pockets, and he decides to strike up a conversation he's been curious about. ]
Which, by the way, haven't gotten to chat with you about it and I'm pretty interested, since, well. I love the stuff, so I'm just curious here. How'd you get into the programming-slash-hacking biz?
